Hip dermal rejection..?

I've had my hips pierced with dermals since April. The piercings have never been infected and have never had any signs of being rejected. Just now I noticed that one dermal hurt a bit and when I looked, I could see that my skin was trying to push it out. Is there a reason why it decided to reject the anchor now after 5 months? Could gaining weight cause this? I've gained about 10 pounds since the piercing and I'm thinking that this might be the reason. Anyone have any theories?

Could be cause of the weight you gained lately, or the movement in the area, sleeping on it at night, accidentally hit it or catch it on clothes and such. Or just because. Sometimes our body does not accept certain piercings and decides to get them out for x reasons. A piercing can reject days after you got it done or even years later.

Hip piercings, surface and dermal have a high risk of rejection anyway. Best thing to so is to take it out asap. You don't want a scar there for ever for a piercing you only had for 5 months. Re pierce it later if you want to. Lot of people keep the piercings that reject thinking that this could stop and everything will be normal again but that never happens. If it starts to reject it will get till the end. So only option is to take it out.
