My Blue Hibiscus doesn't look so good.?
Just 3 wks ago, it was in full bloom with those purple flowers then some possums decided to park themselves in my shed. That's when I noticed my shrubs and the hibiscus looking sad. The ground around the hibiscus was flattened as if they laid there and maybe did their business there too. Also, the heat has been horrible. Could these things have come at the time when it's done with blooming? The trunk and branches are still green but the leaves are shriveling! Is there a time for pruning? Not in summer, right? I don't know what to do, I added some fresh soil around the base. Can anyone tell me what to do for my favorite shrub?

They bloom from July to early September. It's normal for them to be finishing up with the blooming.
Possums hanging out in their shade won't hurt them. And if they did their business there, then they are fertilizing them. It's all good.
