Should I lend this guy $100?

Ok, so my boyfriend's friend just had his kids taken by CPS. I think it was just one of his other "friends" who called them and said he was doing drugs or something. They did it just to be mean. He smokes pot but doesn't do anything else. My bf doesn't have a job right now and I'm the one paying all the bills, and I don't really know his friend that well...we have hung out a few times but that's been over a year ago and I don't talk to him any more. He's short $100 to pay the lawyer, but my bf says he doesn't have a good track record for paying people back. So what do you think? I feel kinda bad cause technically I am able to help but I don't really want to start talking to him again.

You're not obligated to help. Your boyfriend told you up front that his friend prolly would not pay you bak. The kids prolly were not taken away just because of a simple phone call. CPS had to find something on him or they would have left well enough alone. Let him work through his own battles for himself and for his children. It's not your problem.

From the first sentences of this your boyfriend and his other friend sound like scum, he should have a job and he should be paying the bills. He's not worth the time, get rid of him and leave him to suffer.

Why don't we bring back slavery again, so that people without jobs can stop being crap.

If this guy is a good father and you think he deserves his child back then give him the money. Even if he isn't known to pay people back just give it to him so he could get his child. And you don't have to talk to him. Just think of the child and don't worry about the money.

Maybe he needs to work this one out and man up to his own problem. The lawyer will be there when he gets the money saved.
