In what ways did english experiences in the west indies provide a model for the colonization..APUSH urgent?

Firstly, it was not the English, but the British who colonised both the West Indies and North America, either as independent kingdoms prior to 1707 or as the United Kingdom after that. A lot of the colonists were Scottish, for example, who were looking to improve themselves.

Secondly, there were no models as the people who colonised were not the same and the dates varied tremendously, from late 16th century in what is now North Carolina through to the 18th century for some of the Caribbean colonies.

Added to this were the ongoing wars in Europe that meant that places changed hands quite often and provided a rich history for a lot of the Americas.
