I was also told to submit this information:

1. My power supply has 230 volts (sticker where the power chord goes in)

2. I don't want to open my computer since I never have and I don't really have experience with this sort of thing but there's an air vent near the place where the graphics card goes and from there I can tell there's an empty space which looks to be above my current graphics card which I think could fit another one.

3. My budget is around $500

Thanks to "bloody hair" for helping me with these questions :)

well the power supply has 230 volts....are you sure it doesn't say 230 watts?

    theres a huge difference.

I'm pretty sure you got it wrong,it would never say 230 volts, ever.it could say 230 amps,if your power supply were a 2736 watt power supply...which is unlikely, the only one I've seen like that is the evga sr2.

    if it's 230 amps then it's great.

if it's 230 watts then it needs to go.

I'm going to assume you meant watts.

you need to replace the power supply.

I'd go with the corsair tx650,great quality, great amount of watts, and quiet. plus it's kinda cheap.

and then go with the gtx 680,I recommend the asus direct cu II

    http://www.dabs.com/products/asus-geforce-gtx-680-...

I can't say if it'll fit or not since you can't measure it.

EDIT:you were looking at the wrong thing,I didn't mean the VC input.I meant the max wattage output.

and the amps under the 12v rail.

If the gadget has an AGP slot (as maximum computers outfitted in the basically ideal 5 years or so do), use it--not a PCI slot. The AGP slot is designed for video playing cards--PCI slots are prevalent and far slower for video use.
