Hello Semper....
No... 56% on the AFQT (Armed Forces Qualification Test) is NOT that high.
The Air Force requires a minimum of 50% on the AFQT JUST to be allowed to enlist.
What you really should be telling us is what your LINE SCORES of the ASVAB are.
The LINE SCORES determine what Marine Corps jobs you are qualified for.
If is not true that because your Mom is not a US citizen that your jobs are limited.
If YOU are not a US citizen your jobs will be limited.
If you try to join the Army or Navy you will find the same things about qualifications.
Your ASVAB test is good for 2 years before you must retake it.
My e-mail is found by clicking on my photo and you will be able to e-mail me directly.
Tell me your full ASVAB line scores and what jobs the Corps has told you about your limits. OK?

Um you scored well on the ASVAB but did not score high. Being like in the 80's-90's is scoring high. Anyways not that many jobs actually need like an in depth security clearance so you should be fine, just make sure whatever you pick serve well at it. Also do not sign an open contract or ur going to be made who knows what could be admin, a cook, or anything else not that those are bad jobs but only if that's what you desire to do. I scored a 69 and for the most part I could pick just about any MOS I wanted but I wanted to be a grunt so nothing else appealed to me anyways so it was a pretty simple decision for me I just had to decide which branch. Im which I believe I made the best choice for me and do not regret my decision!

With how effortless the asvab is.. a 35 is almost pronouncing that you just controlled to signal your identify at the paper and spell it safely. Your choices. Infantry, truck driving force, cook dinner *despite the fact that cook dinner possibly abit above your degree* You possibly fortunate sufficient to get...good that is approximately it... Kudos. If you so controlled to visit school at sixteen, it sounds as if you did not take so much, given that hte asvab covers alot of common guides. In reality, I can take into account probably the most exceptional questions about it.. It confirmed a mountain with a tube within the core and requested.. What is that this?

For any branch, because you have a family member that doesn`t have citizenship, you can`t get any MOS`s that require security clearances.

Alas the security issue will follow you to every branch. There are still exciting jobs in the military that do not require citizenship
(I had dual citizenship when I joined, so I understand your pain)
