I got a 2008 Jeep Wrangler X with auto tranny issues, reverse is a forward gear.?

And I'm not familiar with your issue ...never had it happen to me. But ....

I would look at the shift linkage. Sounds like maybe the linkage connection to the transmission has gone out of adjustment or possibly got damaged somehow (done any serious wheeling lately?).

Cruise into one of the Jeep specific forums. I dd a search of "2008 wrangler shift linkage" and came up with quite a number of hits. Apparently this sorta thing you're experiencing does happen to others.

I checked for Technical Service Bulletins but could not find anything related to the transmission concern you described. You may want to consider having the vehicle diagnosed by your local authorized Jeep Service Department.
