Why do people like Mac for gaming?

People claims Macs are amazing for graphics, gaming, video editing and stuff, but they have older processor than the average PC, with less graphics card and RAM options, plus they're batteries are way worse. If that's not enough all good games are designed for PC so why would you buy a system that costs much more, then get another operating system?

Plus PC's (especially Dell's and Lenovo's) are way cheaper for a system with equal or better stats/components.

Update:

@rayray from da baybay, A lot of thats false, a good PC is made with higher end parts than a Mac, and if just since Mac OS X uses a Unix base doesn't make it virus proof, its just SLIGHTLY less prone to viruses. Similarly, who wants an easy OS, if you know how to use a computer you'll realize how restrictive Mac is, if I wanted that kind of OS I'd run OpenSource Linux(the OS Mac is, except w/o restrictions OS X has). Also my PC boots in under 5 seconds consistently, no matter what programs were running. When it comes to gaming and graphics, Mac has ONE graphics upgrade option which is far worse than what I want. I love Alienware, and Precisions, I use them as general PCs alot, plus game and do CADD on them. Also, I have a 6 year old dell that runs virus free, perfectly fine, and I haven't spent a dollar on fixing it.

you can customize what you want on your computer to make it more compatible for gaming because macs weren't originally made for gaming HOWEVER when you order your computer you can put extra stuff in. my battery lasts all day. maybe you're talking about the older versions? macs have a simple, similar user interface that makes it easy for any customer to use. they're consistant, they're classy, and they're user friendly. no viruses and it doesn't take 10 billion mins to boot up like a PC would. they don't use cheapy *** looking plastic parts like windows computers do. the goal of microsoft is to mass market computers to as many people as possible, that's why their stuff is of such bad quality. it's much better buying a more expensive mac, then dealing with paying for all of the problems a PC brings. i game on my laptop and it's more than ok. if i really wanted a computer for gaming and if i was a hardcore gamer, i might get an alienware but i wouldn't use it for anything else. macs are good as a universal computer.

edit: @matthew: that's what it comes with if you buy a STANDARD mac. on the website before you buy, you can up the ram and storage, graphic cards and everything. just like a gamer would modify their windows computer to game, the same thing can be said for macs. i honestly think anyone who still uses a PC doesn't know what they're missing. they obviously haven't used a mac consistently.

edit: cool bro i hope you feel better. i have NEVER gotten a virus on my mac. ever. i don't even have virus protection and neither do any of my friends who are mac users. if you're a windows user and don't have viruses, then you have virus protection. don't lie to yourself because you have it. actually, i HAVE run windows on my mac and it runs smoother then it does on it's own machine! windows tries to sell out to every friggin company that's willing to use their software. that's why not everything works as well with the different computers. there are better end PCs and PCs that are pieces of ****. it's their responsibility to make sure that they put out a good product, and they do NOT do that. it's also a myth that you can't run linux on macs. and explain why windows computers look so cheap and bulky? it makes so much noise when you click the buttons. just admit that now they're trying to make it look like a mac because the user interface is better and it's more appealing to the user. not to mention that when you buy a system like windows 8, they give you the most basic version with barley any stuff on there so that you have to keep buying different packages. that's a rip off.

PCs are best for gaming. You can game on a mac but there library of games is pretty small. But ya it is a waste of money just buying a mac and bootcamping windows on it you can buy a much better gaming pc for the amount of money you spent on your mac.

Guessing they see the 8GB+ RAM and think its awesome for gaming. I think a mac could work for gaming if you got it custom made or something. But really PC's are better.
