Keeping clothes in drawers/wardrobe smelling nice..?

I live in the UK and it is always cold and damp here. So I find that my clothes in the wardrobe and the drawers quickly lose the nice clean smell and start to smell funky. I remember my gran used to put nice smelling soap bars or those lavender pillow things in th drawers but I was wondering if you guys might have some other ideas too?

Spray your favorite perfume on a cloth or a decorative fabric item.

If you have been having a boy i would say "ship those garments to me!" i'm grateful for all presents. Instances are rough. And what's the point of buying pricey clothes that may match for only a few months at a time. I do not recall the final time I bought new clothes (besides undergarments) for MYSELF and my husband. My child is going to grow up in Salvation army clothes. I assume i'm special. I grew up bad (now not bad now-in reality doing particularly well), so paying new garments costs gives ms shakes and convulsions. LOL! Kidding!! But if you do not need used clothes, use the nice vs number factor. You're MIL doesn't ought to purchase your youngster lady's entire dresser. Only some gadgets. :) maybe your MIL isn't doing as well as she pretends? I do know my mother and father and my MIL are struggling to make ends meet, so i'll be enormously grateful for something they offer my husband and i. :)

I go to TK Maxx & buy cheap boxes of continental soaps, they usually smell fantastic.

These are then put in the drawers or among the sheets etc in my airing cupboard to keep a nice smell in there.

I hate perfumed soap to use on myself so if I am given any they are used in the same way

Dryer sheets tucked in drawers or hung over the hanger rods. My mother had many a fine mesh "pillow" filled with potpouri tucked in her drawers. Her's were fany with satin backs, I supsect old nylon stocking pieces would work.

Do you have paper liners in your drawers? Some trap the moisture and others have embedded scents. I suspect you could make your own with blotter paper and cologne.

Years ago I used to have a nice silver talc holder I'd keep in drawers to grab moisture.

Fabric softener sheets work well. Put one in each drawer and one in a corner of the closet & one on a shelf. You may also want to try some DampRid in the wardrobe. They make a hanging version that should work for you. It's probably in larger stores & here it is online.

I once read that hanging a bundle of chalk in your closet will collect the moisture and allow your clothes to stay fresher for longer. Here's the link to a Martha Stewart closet organizing article that includes the chalk thing. Try it out! Good luck!

depending on how old the dresser is...some leave your sittiing clothes smell old woody and stail

i prefer to hang all my clothes and then i have little baskets for the small things...and then i got small zip locks and placed some downey unstoppables in them and poked some needle holes in them...and the scent..makes the basket items smell great...
