What should the main point of my narrative be about?

It will be basically about my best friend in high school who I did everything for and I was there for her through all of her huge problems, but she ended up screwing me over. The professor says our narrative has to have a main point. Here is what he wrote:

Come up with a main point that isn’t generic, and might have some intellectual

value. Working with our theme, you should think about what we’ve talked about in class,

and see if you can come up with an idea that relates to the theme that is thought

provoking, and a thinking person would find interesting. One way of doing this might

be to find a “commonly held” value, such as “you shouldn’t steal,” and find an exception

to that involving a story from your experience.

(theme is heros and villains basically)

Everyone gets screwed sometimes, but that doesn't mean you should stop helping other people because even if your hard work goes unrewarded, you are still making the world a better place by being a positive influence. Sometimes we have to go the extra mile even when life seems unfair and hurtful. Otherwise, there would never be any peace, but chaos as we continue looking out for ourselves and make sure we get the better deals....anything in here you can use?
