Cooking with alcohol for non drinkers?

Actually they are recovered alcoholics and not touched a drop for at least 10 years. I made some tomato sauces using rum and vodka. No it's not so much that any flavour of alcohol is left. I want to know by averages if you think I have to tell them about the booze in it or not. Should I refrain from sharing this batch with them all together? I'm worried about their feelings about it. Any opinions will be seriously considered, thank you.

Update:

If you really must know. They are our neighbours. I didn't add alcohol with the first batch and gave them some. I do this every year for the nice people on my block. Half of their family likes it hot the other half mild. They got a mild one in mid August. I had 47 tomato plants this year and gave away most of what I made. I am making the last of the tomatoes now. This is was supposed to be just for my husband and myself. My neighbour approached me today and asked if I could make a hot one just for him. He's one of the recovering alcoholics himself. I said I'd check on how much was left before committing a lasagna, spaghetti or chili to him. I already made the sauces with the alcohol in them. Before committing to him because I wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not...I came here to ask the question.

Definitely tell them. They've worked hard to not touch alcohol, and if you give it to them without telling them you undermine 10 years of work. If they feel comfortable eating the sauce they will, but it has to be their choice.

PLEASE don't give them this, it's not the flavour of alcohol that they are addicted to, it's the effects of the alcohol, and if you were to give them these sauces, it would be very bad news for them indeed... just a tiny amount of alcohol would spark a response in them to crave more. I have to ask, why the HELL do you deem it necessary to put rum and vodka in tomato sauce? You know they are alcoholics, and you put alcohol in something for no apparant reason??

Cooking with booze will remove *most* of the alcohol, but not all of it. When I have this dilemma, I just use chicken, beef or vegetable stock in place of the booze.
