Grants to pay for teen driving lessons?
Im 18 live in South Carolina and cant afford to pay for driving lessons. So if any one knows of any organization that can supply grants for this kinda thing could you please let me know. Thanks in advance.
P.S. Once I have driving lessons cant I be add to one of my parents driving insurance policies?

You can try checking with your town, city or county to see if there are any programs to teach driving skills for free or at low cost and the best place to start is by calling your local DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) but there are no grants !!!
If after you have passed this and if you live at home then yes you can be added to either of your parents insurance companies.

No such animal. Operating a motor vehicle is a privilege, not a right. Professional driving lessons are a couple of hundred dollars. Your best option is to find someone at least 21 y.o. with an insured vehicle who is willing to show you the ropes. There are some restrictions, so check the state driver's manual.

This would be useless. If you can't afford lessons, then you can't afford insurance either. Since it is illegal to drive without car insurance, getting the lessons won't help you. (For someone under 20 years old, the insurance costs several hundred dollars every month.)
