  • If global warming is real, what is the temperature of the earth supposed to be normally?

And if the temperature of the planet is reversed, how is it stopped from going beyond 'normal' to global cooling. And then how is the global temperature stabilized and maintained? Is there a thermostat somewhere that does this and who sets it - Al Gore?

  • How to improve driver & passenger survivability in motor vehicles?

Since virtually nothing is being done to prevent motor vehicle mishaps and the resultant death and injuries other than pay lip service to the problem, should all occupants of motor vehicles be required to wear crash helmets with face shields and neck braces similar to those worn by NASCAR drivers?...Would you wear one?..If not, why not?

  • In 25 words or less, can anybody explain why weather forecasters always say: "rain (or snow) is falling?"

Does it do anything else that the Joe Scheisskopf's like me might not be aware of?

  • How can the US be called 'imperialistic?"?

The US still has troops in Britain, Japan, Germany and Korea by treaty post WWII...the US had troops in the Philippines, Taiwan and France also by treaty, but were asked to leave or voluntarily withdrew...Doesn't sound "imperialistic" to me.

  • How do I be "dad" to step kids?

My wife and I have been together almost 7 yrs, married almost 6...She was an internet bride...I never met her two kids (a son and daughter both adults) til after we were married...I don't think they knew about me til after we were living together - before we wed.

My problem is I want to be more involved with her side of the family, but I can't get close...I mentioned this desire to my wife, but she kind of shrugged it off, saying that they still had issues with their dad, who has since died.

It is frustrating to be almost a non-entity with her family...I feel almost like a stranger - with her son and daughter anyway - on the few occasions when we've gotten together...We're in CA, they're on the E. coast...Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to let these kids know that I would like to be a part of their lives - even a little bit more than it is now.

    Thank you.

  • Want help / advice?

There are many of you who are very young...But you do not communicate your feelings or ideas very well at all...The text msg method of spelling is such a nuisance and a deterent - for me at least - to reply to your inquiry.

I strongly recommend that you take the time and effort to present your words in proper format...It is good practice for when you finish school and have to do it for real...The programs here have spellcheck - use it

    Take care & good luck

  • For First Time Drivers (Teens)?

I am putting a program together to help teens be better (safer) drivers...It is not related to anything about getting a license - since I am not sanctioned by the state to do that...My idea is to share my experiences (I'm a fmr driver's lic examiner & professional driver)...My question is - what info from someone like me would be most beneficial to youthful first-time drivers without being a drag?...This is a discussion, q & a type forum...Thanks for your input
