What was John McCain thinking when he chose Sarah Palin as a running mate.I often wonder about this.?

He had a final choice between Romney and Palin. Once he got a look at 23 years of Romney's tax returns he had no choice but Palin.

He was thinking that since the Far Right Anti-American wing of the G0P wouldn't let him pick Lieberman he would introduce a poison pill into the Party by picking Stupid Sarah.

McCain chose Palin because he thought with Hillary out of the picture, nominating a female V.P. would sway a lot of Hillary Clinton women voters his way! McCain was an idiot.
