how old is the turnstile ?
I'm looking for a clue on whether the turnstile is older than 1916. I assume it is, but "assume" doesn't satisfy.

The use of turnstiles in most modern applications dates to 1916
Turnstiles were originally used, like other forms of stile, to allow human beings to pass while keeping sheep or other livestock penned in. The use of turnstiles in most modern applications has been credited to Clarence Saunders, who used them in his first Piggly Wiggly store, in 1916
