Why are there Aldi stores in Britain?

Hi Why are there Aldi stores in Britain?

I was so excited to discover that there are Aldi stores in London and when I went there I was highly disappointed to find that they don't sell any American food -_-

So why have they named it Aldi? It isn't Aldi its horrifying. Aldi is American but all's they sell is British food.

The Answer is that Aldi is a German based multinational budget supermarket chain. The stores in the UK sell a similar product product line to what you might find in Germany, tailored to the UK market. The American stores are still owned by the same German parent company but they stock food tailored to the local US market.

They wouldn't sell American food in their UK or other European stores because those products are not made here, they would be enormously expensive if they were.

Check out their website and you will see just how many countries they have stores in - 17, the only stores they have outside Europe are in the US and Australia.

Tesco is a grocery store chain, you'll to find one in each town or city, the greater stores have the whole lot from groceries to backyard furniture to iPads and TVs, typically a little bit like Walmart however Asda will be the UK variation (I consider Asda is owned through Walmart simply) Tesco is typically favoured and a bit of extra high-priced. There may be other supermarket chains too which can also be regarded more cost-effective or highly-priced, the less expensive ones like Aldi and Lidl most likely sell European models of stuff, which might be less expensive, then there is Sainsbury's, Marks and Spencer and Waitrose which can be viewed more upmarket. There are smaller types of Tescos too like a regional shop, they may be in all places, you are generally in no way greater than 50ft far from one lol Peanut butter jelly sandwiches, undoubtedly you don't eat all that ? With the aid of jelly I anticipate you imply jam? Some could eat those but it surely's now not very customary right here, we decide on crisps, biscuits, cake, fruit and sweets for a snack (crisps being your chips) Breakfast quite often, cereal, toast, Bacon, eggs, truffles, sausages, pancakes, yoghurt or a cuppa tea and a *** (that is a cigarette over here ;) (no longer ) We devour close to the whole thing you guys eat, sure there can be a number of objects you won't have and visa versa, we're rather now not that extraordinary.

  • why do you think? Because the company has expanded and set up outlets overseas, their marketing personnel must of concluded that the UK would be a viable and presumably profitable venture.

Why no US food??....2 main reasons 1 too gain concessions the UK government will have insisted the commercial giant has to buy British produce, and secondly because this also eliminates import costs and taxes...I have shopped there and there prices are very competitive

Btw Aldi has it's origins in Germany not the US

"Because they've ran out of names for supermarkets so they've stolen 'Aldi' from America."

    LOL LOL LOL

The yanks thinking they're the centre of the entire universe (again).

Wait for American special week. You might then find some gen-u-whine pretzels for sale.
