Which colleges could I get into with these scores...?

I'm a senior in high school, and my guidance counselor hasn't been very helpful (whenever I suggest a college, he tells me it's a "great choice!" without any advice on whether or not I could actually get in.) My parents aren't great with this kind of stuff, so I decided to ask other people's opinions :)

SAT:

Writing 760

Reading 730

Math 690

Total: 2180

ACT

Reading 36

Writing 34

Science 31

Math 25

Total 32

GPA: 3.5 (bad grades freshman year.) I'm taking 5 AP classes this year, however. The rest have been honors classes.

I am really not sure where I want to apply, but if anyone has a general idea of what types of schools I could get into, that would be great...? Also: I got a scholarship from taking the MCAs that told me I could go to UMASS for free. This would be great, because cost is a pretty big problem for me. Would I get into UMASS? I've heard it's getting harder and harder to get into, because more and more people want to go there.

Thank you for anyone who helps!! :)

I also received the John and Abigail Adams scholarship! :)

Unfortunately, the scholarship just pays for tuition, which will only knock about a thousand dollars or so off the total cost. It still leaves 10,000 or so in fees, not to mention room and board. It's not a lot, but money is also going to be an issue for me, so anything helps.

I'm currently looking into UMASS Lowell, which I would be happy to attend. I toured there this summer and it's not the newest or most glamorous, but it seems like a great school and has a nice downtown area, which I am attracted to (I want to be in an urban area). It's also known for some of its signature programs, such as the sound recording technology program that I'm personally interested in. It all depends on what you want to go into as a major.

It is getting harder to get into just because the cost of a most private universities is outrageously expensive, but with your academic record and SAT scores, I don't think you should have a problem. Also, I don't agree with anyone who says that public schools don't offer the same caliber education as many private schools. According to US news site, UMASS Lowell is ranked #170 among national universities; not too shabby, I'd say.

Not sure what scholarships and financial aid are going to do for me, but UMASS Lowell is definitely up there on my list. I don't know much about the other UMASSes besides knowing people who've gone there, but I hope this helps!

Your academics and test scores are excellent, so congratulations. You do not list any extracurricular or cocurricular activities, which will have at least some factor in your admission.

With that, you should be able to get into most schools (no Ivy Leagues, no public Ivy schools, no super-selective schools).

I would suggest that you consider good public schools, probably in your state. You have a good (not guaranteed) chance of admission to UMass, so apply. If you can go for free, that would be awesome! It is a great education and one that would serve you well. Look at other schools, where the prospects of scholarships and financial aid are high.

    Good luck.

PS. The College Board website has a lot of help and, if you search for a school in which you are interested, the site will suggest other schools at which similar students looked.

with a view to also have a shot at a respectable college, you pick a minimum of a 1700 in the adventure that your GPA is in basic terms a three.0 in the adventure that your GPA replaced into extreme then or no longer it relatively is a distinctive college, and no offense yet your grammar is conspicuously undesirable. a three.0 GPA is on the decrease end for a good college or college if by way of which you propose Yale or UC Berkeley, for those you pick a minimum of a 2000
