Possible jock strap itch?

Hi,

So, probably a few months ago now. These spot like looking things appeared on my upper left leg close to my genital area. At first, I thought it was acne spots like people get on their face, I do have a little bit of akeney. So, I then decided to put some spot cream on them as well. I did this for a few days. But, it didn't seem to change anything. I then left them alone for a long time hoping it would just go away by itself. Probably no more then 3 weeks ago, I did some research about spots in this area and came across what's known as a jock strap itch. I read some advice and applied some talcum powder across the spots for a about a week. This reduced the size of the spots and now it's no longer slightly raised off of the skin but sits flush. The appearance looks now more like rashes. I continued to apply talcum powder but not much seemed to happen, if anything.

So, I am starting to doubt if it actually is a jock strap itch, because the talcum powder isn't working and because the spots/rashes are only in one place; on my upper left thigh (close to the genitals) and there are only about 5 of them.

If my age helps, I'm 16 this month. Also, they only itch if I scratch them.

Soak a cotton ball with alcohol and clean area several times a day-should be gone in

    a week or less.

sounds more like ingrown hairs to me. Jock Itch is in the groin, not on the thighs. Good luck, GW

Apply vinegar generously, leave on for a couple of minutes, then rinse off (in the shower is easier).
