What can I do about a1996 Mazda b3000 pickup (Ford Ranger) Throttle lag uphill?
It lacks power going uphill but seems fine on flat surfaces and small hills.. i have never noticed it until I moved to the mountains. Do you think it could be a clogged fuel filtered? What other causes or what can it most likely be?

I think it is what it is. I have a 98, same motor, manual trans, same deal.
The have 147hp@5k rpms. So at 3k rpm, you might have 100hp to the wheels.
Tuneup can never hurt, and filters and plugs are cheap. Awesome truck, owned mine 12 years, never broken down on me. But I never expect it to fly up any hills.
You could go to a higher set of rear end gears, better acceleration but youll lose a mpg or 2.
