Did the pies really think about what they were doing?

What did their recruiters take to make it seem like a good idea to pick up the big Q, I can not see how he can possibly fit into a team with Cloke and Dawes (Dawes particularly is almost as big and clumsy)

Update:

if it somehow works out we end up with wellingham i would be 110% confident to say we come out on top, even if we sacrifice our first draft pick (which likely won't happen, the eagles do tend to keep their first round ones alot of the time)

Yes i think they did ! In 2010 the won a flag with Cloke & Dawes in the key forward positions and with L.Brown change ruck and forward. Brown retired last year, and his absence left a hole in the Pies forward half set up this year. Lynch is 29 mobile, a proven forward, WCE leading goalkicker in 07 08 and can change ruck with Jolly ! Lynch is capable enough to play the role the Pies require, to fit their structure, and possibly better performed at WCE than L.Brown was when he joined the Pies from Nth Melbourne .

Nah nah nah - I'm the Big Q and I will NEVER play for those guys (well actually I would for the right contract ... but that's just me) ... the OTHER Q on the other hand I think of as just another Dawes - basically a big guy who lacks a brain but has reasonable mobility and can kick real good. I think they're probably looking for the ruck assist too - but it ain't gonna help.

I agree with Mick that Dawes may be on the outer, but nevertheless, I'd be chasing something better than Quinten

I've often wondered how Lynch gets picked at the Eagles, it's not for talent, because in that area he is sub-standard.

As to how he is going to fit into the Woods setup is beyond me, to dispense with Wellingham to pickup Lynch is a total lose, lose situation.

How glad I am I don't follow the Pies.

i believe it is a good idea, first off Dawes is more than likely going to get traded to either st.kilda, melbourne or carlton.. so that's one big man gone, and Collingwood will possibly get Tippett to fill in the spot.. anyway back to the point.. Lynch is designed to come into the side to play a very similar role in which Leigh Brown played in 2010/2011 which saw us appear in 3 grand finals, that role being.. second ruckman to Darren Jolly who can sneak up forward, which Lynch can do.. personally i think it's a very good idea
