Is 50 calories too low for breakfast?

So I'm on a 1200 calorie diet and recently I've lowered my breakfast count from 150 down to 50 which includes egg white, and coffee. Do you think that's too low or decent? Btw I eat just before 8 and eat lunch around 12:30 or so

    Breakfast is the meal you can afford to have a little more - you have the whole day ahead to work it off. However, I know many prefer eating a large evening meal than breakfast.

    If you're on a 1200 calories diet, I'm amazed that eating such a low breakfast can provide to with the whole amount.

    I suggest this:

    Breakfast - 200kcal

    Snack - Something around 100kcal

    Lunch - 200 - 300 kcal

    Snack - Something around 100 kcal

    Dinner - 400-500kcal

    For snacks, I suggest Fruit, Cereal Bars, Low fat yoghurts, etc. They can kill the cravings between meals yet you can still remain guilt free.

    Good Luck on your weight loss - but do it safe and healthy! If in doubt, visit your GP and get some advice or join a slimmers club!

    It's substantially better then most people eat which is nothing at all. I think you can afford to eat a bit more for breakfast. After all you have all day to work it off.

    Too low!! You're supposed to take in MOST of your calories for breakfast so you can burn it off during the day. Try egg whites, toast & yogurt. My personal favorite is mixing egg whites & oatmeal.

    Yes, if you want to have any sort of metabolism.

    1200 calories a day will also slow your metabolism to a crawl, you need MINIMUM 1600 calories a day or your body will store every calorie and gram of fat you ingest.

    Where do you silly chicks come up with these daft ideas?
