Convince me that love does exist.?

i want to beleive in love, but it doesnt apeal to my philosophy anymore. I know emotions exists, bt i think love is a farce to try and explain something we do not understand. Pls argue and proove y i should beleive in love(in the relationship sense, and not in the agape, family or pet/toy loving sense.).

True Love exists and yet, there are no words

in any language which can come close to adequately

    describing True Love.

One must truly experience True Love to understand.

Sadly, so many people are so very jaded

and say True Love does not exist.

I hope everyone of them has the chance to experience

True Unconditional Love in their Lifetime.

I have had a couple of relationships where

I wish they had come with eject buttons...

My fiirst husband beat me tried to kill me and

abducted our 31/2 year old daughter.

It took me 21 years and 4 months to find her.

    However,

I met the man of my dreams at a Senior function

the end of my Senior Year at the 4th High School

in 3 states that I had attended. Always the New Girl!

    "Love at First Sight"

From that moment we met we were inseparable until

the end of Summer. However, due to circumstance set in

motion before we met, we had to part ways at summers end.

If you love someone let them go...

We were so much in Love that we did some serious talking

and decided to set each other free since we were going in

such different directions and there was so much of life to

    experience..

So at the end of summer he was off to college

and I had to report for Duty in the Navy.

We wrote for a while but lost touch.

If they come back to you...

In June 2010 through Classmates.com and Face book we

reconnected. He was widowed and I divorced.

We SKYP’d all Summer. When we met face to face in

September 2010, time melted, the 35 years now seemed

more like yesterday and we picked up where we left off.

moved in with him December 1, 2010 and life has been wonderful...

Love does exist however it may not be in the forms that you have been educated to believe in for example the Biblical sense.

In short my view "love" (may be a brain impulse) is inherent within us as a species.

    There are two main triggers/initiators.

    1. Desire to have progeny that will pass on/keep our genes alive in another generation.

    2. As we are all derived from a common species, we feel pain and empathy for species that are closer to us in the tree of life. That is why people get sad when they hear of the death of a child, have more empathy for dolphins than sharks.

Hope this makes sense, but I did not want to write a book.

I don't think anyone could convince you. It seems from the question you are already convinced it doesn't so any effort would be wasted.

You like all of us are free to think and feel as you wish. To some love is elusive but to others it is real. Who am I to say it does or it does not exist.

If one can feel it, it exists. Maybe you need to experience it more deeply? I think many people use love for their own egoistic goals and make it seem a farce.

Having somebody love you is pretty cool.

And loving somebody is pretty cool too.

Who wouldn't want to have or do that?
