Radio Music in a Bar / Restaurant Whats the Law? They were told they had to pay to play?

What is the name of the organization that goes into bars and restaurants and tells them they can't play the radio?

    The name of the organization is called ASCAP and BMI...........

    And yes - If you are playing background music whether its just a radio or music from a CD you have to pay royalties.......

Me - I owned a nightclub and had to pay these fee's.... Everyone I know in the bar / restaurant business has to pay these...... These guys are no joke.... They send a rep out - count how many speakers, jukeboxes and TV sets you have, figure in how many days a week / hours you are open and they set a fee schedule up......
