How should I deal with wet carpet?
The filter for my aquarium tipped over and slowly leaked a couple of gallons of water onto the carpet in my room.
I don't have money.
It is wall to wall carpeting.
What can I do?
I immediately soaked up what I could using six towels, then periodically soaked up more after those towels dried.

A wet/dry vacuum cleaner, as big a motor as you can find to suck up as much of the water as possible. Those rug shampoo machines you rent at the grocery store are also wet vacuum cleaners and will also suck up the water, plus you can spray down hot soapy water to suck up. Then you set as many fans as you can around the room blowing the air around to dry up the carpet.
