Computer says it might be at risk even though I have Malwarebytes Pro.?

I have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro installed on my computer but I still get a symbol on the bottom of my screen with a red shield and an X on it. Under Windows Security Center it says that virus protection is not found and my computer could be at risk. I don't understand because I have Malwarebytes! Do I need to enable something? What's going on?

    MBAM is a second opinion scanner, not an AV program. I suggest Avast free:

    Avast, and MBAM will give you really good protection.

    The red shield can indicate different problems, not just malware. Maybe it is indicating thay your firewall is off, or that some Windows Updates are not installed.

    On the other hand, I have seen some bad programs pretending to be malware removing tools, but in fact they are malware themselves, and they display annoying messages with the same icons.

    Does Malwarebytes Anti-Malware replace antivirus software?

    Quote;

    "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is not meant to be a replacement for antivirus software. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a complementary but essential program which detects and removes zero-day malware and "Malware in the Wild". This includes malicious programs and files, such as viruses, worms, trojans, rootkits, dialers, spyware, and rogue applications that many antivirus programs do not detect or cannot fully remove. It is important to note that Malwarebytes Anti-Malware works well and should run alongside antivirus software without conflicts. In some rare instances, exclusions may need to be set for your specific antivirus product to achieve the best possible system performance."
