Are males proven to be more laid back?

I have never heard studies confirming this, even though some people I know state that it's their own experience. But I think it's mainly selection bias. I know guys who seem fairly quiet and calm, but if you get to know them they're just full of "He/She said stuff about me I will hurt him/her and hate him/her for a very very long time!" and passive-aggression and verbal sniping. I know girls who seem like screaming maniacs, but after a half hour of stomping around screeching threats and obscenities it's all, "Aww, you know I just needed to vent. Let's grab some ice cream." I also know guys who are so addicted to drama it's terrifying.

So it would be interesting to see the statistics, although anyone who's known enough males and females knows those would be ONLY statistical trends.

I think it just depends on the person. For me I don't talk to this girl i was friends with anymore because she goes out with this boy i used to go out with. But I know a lot of girls who do that. I had a friend who went out with this girl and one of his friends stopped speaking to him because he liked the girl first. But usually guys don't care about things like that. It all just depends.
