I believe in God, but I am confused!?

I went through the same type of confusion a long time ago. I know it may seem confusing now but talk to people and focus on what you believe in and forget everything else. When your older you might look at other religious ideas in a fun way. I know I do now. Also you may want to talk to somebody who you know in real life about this and not ask it on Y!A because you will just get a whole mess of people who will just keep trying to get you to think their way by either telling you not to believe in God or say quote from the bible. If you have hung out here often enough you have probably figured that out by now. So talk to your parents about this and not a bunch of stangers who have no lives whatsoever and have nothing better to do but sit in front of the computer all day and argue with people.

You are confused because you are observant about things that religion denies, but you also want to believe there is one religion that explains everything. No religion is perfect, all have been corrupted by people wanting to advance their own agendas. But every major religion also contains pointers to the real truth. Notice the difference between being true and containing clues to the truth.

It is up to every individual to seek and discover the truth on his/her own. Blind faith goes against our abilities to observe what's real. For example, strict Christianity says there is no reincarnation, but there is a LOT of rational literature supporting the fact that reincarnation is a natural part of life. Not everyone is fortunate enough to spontaneously remember one of their past lives, like I did, but many do and you can read about them.

The basic thing you need to remember is that God will not send you to hell for wanting to learn the truth about life. Go forth, read, explore, question, and judge for yourself. It's the only honest spiritual path.

When I was little, I observed the natural world and believed only what I saw.

When I got a bit older, I believed what my family believed.

When I was a teenager, I questioned and argued with people at church even though I firmly believed in God.

When I got to college, I started questioning even more.

Then I started rejecting.

There's no such thing as past lives, reincarnation or god. Witch craft is nonsense, no one can actually cast spells. God is a myth invented by primitive people to explain things they didn't understand and to comfort them over the thought of death. Why would a god create people to live on Earth a short time before sending them to an eternity of afterlife? To judge us? A god would not need to do so because he is supposedly the creator and he's all knowing so he would know who we are before creating us. It's all nonsense, enjoy your life and what you can get out of it.

There is a God who is the God of rightness, and then there is the devil who wishes you would abandon God and worship him instead. So of course he, the devil, throws confusion your way. If you hold to God's word, the devil's confusion will not sway you. You apparently know nothing of God's word. You need to stop letting people tell you what the bible says and read what the bible says for yourself. You simply can't trust anybody to tell you what it says. Too many people are unable to distinguish between truth and lies, and too many people will pretend to know something when they don't.

Read the bible from Romans to 2 Thessalonians over and over until you start to remember what it says. That is the part that applies to Christians. Keep reading until you start to notice it says some things that are different from what you have been told it says. Keep reading until you figure out that the bible is more reliable than those people who told you different things. Here is a book to help you study the bible. Maybe he put all that stuff here so we could have choices.. I mean, us loving God when there's no other choice isn't really that big a deal, is it?

Or maybe all that stuff exists because we (our ancestors anyway) already made choices.

Either way, all that really matters is that God has written his name on your heart. He has fulfilled his promise and you are saved. Of course living a godly life as well as you can is good way of showing your thanks and joy at being saved.. other than that, I think many of these confusing things exist because God genuinely wants us all to enjoy life.. and different people enjoy different things.

past lives, reincarnation, witch craft, palmistry, numerology, horoscopes, are all against the 10 commandments. So why are you confused. God never put those options(?, they aren't options) in front of you, you did because you tried to believe in them. You decided to read up on those, to listen and to fall for them. So go to confession. People that are promoting that junk are doing so for a living, they make money by keeping radio, tv, movies people in jobs and for entertainment purposes only, and they write books to make money. Christians should not take those seriously. They are a sin.

The point of living is that Our Father put us here and he wants us to enjoy life, to live and learn and better ourselves, to love him and serve him. What do you mean no one knows God's plan? Apparently you don't, but a lot of the rest of the world does. Get with the program.

each of us must go thru life on earth where we choose either heaven or hell.

tis the reason you and i are here on earth ... to make that choice in our living years

and to abide in the laws of God while in the flesh.

bc if one cannot abide in His Laws in the flesh ON EARTH, one can forget about heaven. Fail.

on earth, is trial and error. We sin, we learn to stop sin. We are tempted, we learn how to overcome temptations. Its like learning driving. If you pass, you get a licence. You get behind the wheel ALONE and you KNOW how to handle the vehicle.

hence, if you know how to 'drive' your own life on earth and pass , your name is written into the Book of Life. But if you're struggling w sin and have no knowledge of how to repent and overcome sin, you fail. Move forward, backslide ... like a pendulum, you have not mastered the art of overcoming sin. Heaven is not a trial and error place.

This is God's plan.

Tis why humans are put here on earth. Sin. Learn to overcome. Be a master at this. Pass. Otherwise, satan will be your master. Fail.
