Sharpening a Paper Shredder?

I've heard that running a sheet of sandpaper through will put an edge on the rotating blades.

Anybody know if this is true, if not is there an alternate method?

    Sandpaper will dull the edges, not sharpen them.

    Replace the blades or the entire shredder.
