Sorry so negative, but this is all I could think of for metaphors. They are not necessarily my opinion. And I am not usually this negative.

As cocky as a rooster but as qualified as a door nail...or a box of rocks.

Everyone wants the corner office but many lack basic _____. professional writing skills comes to mind. .

...wants an elevator up the corporate ladder.

Spoiled rotten and as entitled as royalty.

As greasy as a perfectly roasted ham and greedy as a pig too.

Sweet. Diabetic sweet...

Tart as a lemon and runs like one too.

existence is a goldfish pond - like the single in the Blue Peter backyard. each and every physique is goldfish. maximum swim luckily in the sunlight and play with one yet another. Others get pushed to the sting of the gang. some flow off into the darker waters out of the sunlight and get caught observing the others play. There are fish who after suffering to rejoin the communities in the sunlight get desperate and leap out the pond. Then there are people who've made it back to the sting of the sunlight and who save a watch on the darker water to help different back. No fish that have seen the sting of the pond are ever comparable to they understand the limitations of existence that the different who're consistently in the sunlight can not even start to appreciate.
