Recently, I saw John Lithgow appearing briefly in the film "Titanic". He is not credited anywhere.?

Does anyone have an explanation for this?

I don't recall seeing him before the 3-D version came out. But I'm certain it was he this time...

Update:

OK, I concede. I guess it was not Lithgow after all - but it sure did look like him at the moment.

Thanks for all answers here.

John Lithgow was not in "Titanic". You saw someone who looks a lot like John Lithgow. If someone as famous as Lithgow appears in a movie, IMDB (Internet Movie Database - imdb.com) lists him as an uncredited actor. He's not listed in IMBD as uncredited, so he did not appear in the movie.

I've never seen him. And it's doubtful he would agree to be uncredited

I don't think that was him. It's not listed in his IMDB page
