i have an idea for a facebook app, where do i begin and what do i do?

i'm guessing you probably don't have much of a background in software. if i were you, i would seek out a geek or two to help you out. if there is a college, university or tech school nearby i would put up a few flyers, especially around the computer and science labs. also put up flyers around coffee houses, smaller computer businesses and the likes. the biggest problem you will face is financing. it will be difficult to find anyone who will invest the time necessary to develop the code with nothing more than a promise of some potential future payoff. so you need to be prepared to pay someone first. you also have to consider the possibility that your idea can be hijacked by the person you hire. RESEARCH how you can protect your idea from theft!!!!

of course, the best idea is to learn code and develop the app yourself. there are tons of sites on the web that teach this for free. i hope this helps, and i hope you have great success with your idea!

Technically, facebook apps are just iframes of pages hosted somewhere else.
