Why would milk cause laxative effect?

I used to drink milk all the time but the last couple of years I have not, a couple of months ago I started eating lots of different cereal and I started having green bowel movements so I quit drinking all that milk and I was fine. Yesterday I took sips here and there of chocolate milk and today I have had like 5-6 bowel movements, I eat cheese and other dairy products all the time so I don't know why milk seems to be a problem
