Is the area south of Dumaguete City Philippines Foreigner safe?

Yes the area south of Dumaguete is safe. whereas the city proper is not as safe as it was a few years back. The resorts there are nice.

I have lived in Dumaguete for five years never had a problem, As for the Mayor hating foreigners that's rubbish. Its a clean city. good bars and a place with nice bars and lots of foreigners.

Dumaguete has a good shopping centre you can buy nearly every thing you want there

Siquijor is worth a visit, nice white beaches , but I would not want t to live there

I have been there, felt safe and enjoyed it a lot. One of the best place I have been to in the Country (but I did not visit Palawan).

You should also go to the Apo island and dive or snorkel with the sea turtles, you can even spend the night there.

About the Mayor of Dumaguete I heard he doesn't like heavy, noisy, drunk foreigners. Dumaguete has a lively night-life but a decent one. I am sure you know know what I mean.

I have been there many times and there are many foreigners. So don`t worry about Dumaguete or ****** being unsafe.The people are very friendly and Dumaguete is very clean if I was not happy where I live now I would move there,lovely place.

You should be fine there. Dumaguete is not that big and i didn't hear anything really bad about that place but still be careful..
