I had to stop taking antibiotics due to complications. Will my infection return?
I was diagnosed with a sinus infection last week and given a Z-Pack. I took 3 days worth of the dosage but had to discontinue taking the medication because it was causing my stomach to become very upset. My doctor said to discontinue use and check in later in the week to see if I am feeling better. I am much less congested than I was when starting the medication but I am still having some drainage and have a cough. What are the chances my body will be able to naturally fight off the rest of the infection??

it's hard to give you an exact answer because while it's possible you will fight off the rest of the infection naturally, it's also possible that the infection will come back with some antibiotic resistance. stomach upset is a side effect of azithromycin but should be somewhat decreased if taken with food. as a general rule, antibiotics cause stomach upset but should be taken for the full course as prescribed.
