How do i know which way my grain grows?
I'm a black soon to be 19 year old man and i bought a shick hydro 5 razor and art of shaving cream a couple of weeks ago and when i shaved with both i wasn't sure which way my grain went below my jaw line so i just shaved away from it and about 5 days later i had razor burn pretty bad below my jaw line so how do i map my face and what kind of razor should i use single bladed ones?

If you grow your hair out a bit, run your fingers across it. The way it feels smooth is with the grain. The other ways (specifically opposite the smooth feeling) is against the grain.
The kind of razor doesn't really matter. Just pick one you like.
