I'm terrible at % of increase ...?

If I buy something for $10 and sell it for $550 how much of increase in terms of a % did I make.

    Increase = 550 - 10 = 540$

    Increase % 540/10 X 100 = 5400% ANSWER

    10=100%

    550=550/10x100

    550=5500%

    Percent increase would be 5500%-100%=5400%

    Percent increase=5400%

    It increases 5400% from 100% which gives a total of 5500%

    (550/10)*100 = 5500%

    the formula is

    amount of change/original amount x 100 = percent change
