    The present Prime Minister of Japan is Yoshihiko Noda of the Democratic party and he has been holding this office since 2nd September 2011.

    As the others have said, it's currently Noda Yoshihiko, but given the turnover rate of Japanese prime ministers recently, it may well be someone else by the time this question is resolved.
