We all knew DECADES ago that the world's oil supply wouldn't last for ever. We had 'oil shocks' in the early 70s when the oil-exporting nations got together and decided to squeeze off the world's supply for more money. We solved that problem by giving our own oil corporations total control over our energy policy, and hugely increasing the importance of money in our politics so oil companies could buy all the deregulation they wanted.

So gas prices are set based on maximum profits for the corporations. Presidents don't have that much control over them. Obama has responded by opening up more drilling in the US, which could result in lower prices or just higher profits.

And you think we're going to solve this problem by putting the Grand Oil Party in charge? 8^D

i don't see what obama has to do with any of this, or more importantly, how romney will represent any kind of change to any of this.

i'm particularly interested in your 'wages' claim though.

wages in the usa have been stagnant since the 1980's or in decline. this means wages have been in decline for a generation.

so, again what has any of this to do with obama.

and the gas claim (that gas was at or below $2 a gallon by the end of the bush term - this is simply not true.

and just to sort of true up your inflation numbers:

the dollar has lost 96% of it's value since the privately held federal reserve took over our monetary policy in 1913.

so again, i'm seeing long term trends just continuing under obama and i see no reason why romney would alter the course of any of this - he certainly hasn't stated so in any speech i've heard.

tell you what, if romney decided to disband the federal reserve and give that authority back to the congress under authority given in the constitution, or even audit the federal reserve - he'd get my vote.
