2006 chevy 2500 remote start?
How do you program the remote start to also turn on the windshield defroster. Mine doesn't work until I turn the key on. No, there was no owners manual when I bought it
The remote start works fine. I left the defroster on and the fan on, but like I said it doesn't work until I put the key in the ignition and turn it to run position

I did not see anything to indicate remote vehicle start instructions in the owner's manual. I can run the VIN# to see if the is was an original OEM part. If it's not in the original build-sheet, it is more than likely an aftermarket installation. If it an aftermarket feature, it would be best to contact the company who installed the system. The doors need to be locked for remote start to work. Just leave the heater on in windshield mode and it will come on when the car starts.
