I need a good topic to start my classical argument paper?
Today it was assigned, I wanted to write about abortions, or gay marriage but it's not acceptable since those are hot topics. I have to write about an academic argument that combines truth seeking and persuasion, not to debate pro and con, rehash old arguments, or to ridicule those who disagree with you. Any ideas? Thank you.

Consider it from some or the other philosophical angle.
"How to sort out issues amicably without arguments".
This is the best title, I can suggest.

I don't see why abortions or gay marriage are off limits just because they are current hot topics as they can be presented as an academic argument. Anyway try to find an issue you are passionate about that doesn't fall in the off limits category and write about that defending the position with logic and reason.
