Is this bike the right size for me?
I'm quite small at 5 ft 3 and I've recently bought a town/shopper bike which has a 16 inch frame and 700C wheels. My housemates say it looks too big for me when I ride but it feels okay. Would you say the size is right or not?

There's a link to it here. It does feel okay to ride. I only began to wonder when my housemates said I look odd on it.

Only YOU can tell if it feels right or not. If it feels right - it IS right. Pay NO attention to others - period.

Road bikes are measured in cm. I think you are in the ballpark with a 16 inch, if it feels too big it is too big. Since you already bought it you might need to slide the seat up or put a shorter stem on it. A lot also depends on your body shape- how long your legs are etc. What is the make and model?

Adjust the saddle so that when the pedal is down, 6'oclock position, your leg has only a slight bend. You shouldn't have to stretch your leg to reach the bottom of the pedal stroke. Now, with the saddle adjusted properly, you shouldn't have to stretch to reach the bars; if you are comfortable and can easily steer (especially at slow speeds), you should be OK.
