I'm doing my hw for chem and i saved this question for last but still can't get it:
A gas occupies a volume of 18L at a pressure of 4.3 atm and a temperature of 501 K. what will the volume expand or contract to if the pressure is raised to 10. atm and the temperature is changed to 250K?

Boyles Law Says
PV = RT
4.3(18) = R(273+501) .................(I)
10*x = R(273 +250) ..................(ii)
Divide (ii) by (i)
10x/77.4 = 523/774
10x =(523/774)77.4
x = 5.23 L ...............Ans
