I have a baby girl who is currently 16 months old. From the time she was about 6 or 7 months old I could see that she had a very strong personality and loved to be very "vocal", but lately she's been very over the top with these temper tantrums. I know that tantrums usually start around the age of 2 but my pediatrician said that it happens around this age. She simply said to look online on parenting websites to learn how to manage her when she's like this, but I don't see a lot of forums or articles that touch upon my situation... My daughter likes to scream at the top of her lungs when she doesn't get what she wants, she has been starting to hit others either out of excitement or anger and I've told her to do "nice" while taking her hand and gently stroking whatever she was hitting i.e. The dog or my face lol, she also has a habit of touching things she shouldn't touch and climbing on things like the tv stand. I want to show her that it's not ok to touch certain things that could be a possible danger to her but since she's only 16 months she doesn't understand too well like a 2 or 3 year old would obviously. It's gotten to the point where her hitting has gotten so out of hand that I've had to give her "pow-pows" (as my family calls it) where I'd take her hand & give her a little smack. Before anyone says that im being abusive it's a light tap on her hand, she doesn't even cry she actually laughs! Anyone who has advise that is going or has been through this similar situation!

My daughter is 4 months old and she has been sleeping in her crib since she was a month old. She sleeps all through the night with the exception of waking up once in the night to change her nappy and give a bottle if she needs it. Since yesterday, after soothing her to a half sleep half wake stage she starts to scream and cry once I lay her on the crib mattress for naps and bedtime. I haven't changed anything at all, it's firm, and is slightly elevated for her because she has a lot of mucus due to her asthma. I had to let her sleep with me last night just so that she would actually go to sleep which I do not feel comfortable with because of 1. The risk of SIDS and 2. I do not want to get her into the habit of being in my bed. It just seems very strange, she doesn't have a fever but is starting to teethe, and she isn't sick to my knowledge but this just happened all of a sudden! Is this a phase or is something wrong?

So I know this sounds completely unrelated with each other but basically, I was at work on my lunch break heating up cup noodles in the microwave and while taking it out, my thumb completely poked through the cup! I followed the directions and everything so idk why the cup had a weak spot. I ran it under cold water immediately for like 5-10 min and I put burn cream on it and I put a non stick gauze pad on and wrapped it with a bandage. It's been 5 days since, it blistered up pretty bad but it doesn't hurt anymore at all, I've just been keeping it dry and changing bandages every day. I thought it was healing well UNTIL my boss tells me a story about her sister burning her finger, she didn't go to the doctor and ended up getting an infection which caused her to lose her baby at 5 months. Am I being a little over dramatic for asking this? This is my first baby and so close to delivering I don't want anything to happen to her, all the burn looks like is a couple of big blisters. Help?!

So I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant and I have recently decided that I want to file for child support since the father of my baby and I are no longer together and he has not really been involved in my pregnancy. Before I go any further I would like to make it clear that I am in no way trying to be spiteful and purposely trying to make things harder for him, I tried arranging a way where he could give me money for the baby and avoid doing things this way but he kinda pushed my hand. This is the last thing I wanted for us but I don't have any other options. My only concern now is how do I go about getting custodial parental rights in the state of CT without having to include him in the decisions I make for our daughter? I don't want to take away his parental rights but I want something set in stone to prevent HIM from doing things out of spite since I do know him well enough to have reason to believe that he would, like take her for a weekend and not bring her back! Please help!

I had a dream a couple of nights ago about me being a surrogate mother/Adoptive mother for an Indian couple (if that is of any significance). This couple was really attractive and extremely ecstatic that I was carrying a child for them. In the dream, I remember feeling very happy that I was having a baby but I kept remembering that it wasn't mine to keep which made me sad. In the dream, I started to have contractions and it was time for labor so the couple took me to the hospital. When we arrived, the hospital resembled a Costco LOL. I would really like to know what this means. Lately, I've been thinking a lot about pregnancy and having babies and would like to have one of my own. Could this tie into my dream?

My mother heard from somewhere that if I have a car in my freshman year of college they won't give me financial aid. My initial response was that this was a load of crap and she's just finding an excuse to not allow me to get my license or car. I want to look into it anyways so can someone please tell me if this is true???

My period ended about a week ago (normal as usual) and i had sex on the same day. I've also had sex a week and a half before tht without any birth control and i've jus started leaking a dark brown vaginal discharge and it has continued today. I'm wondering if i may be pregnant or if it wuld just be some old blood but i also leaked old blood the day my period ended so i dont think it's likely. I've also noticed that i've been a lot more tired than usual and experience little headaches frequently. Can someone tell me what's happening?

I had sex wit my boyfriend and we didn't use protection so he finished in me. the next day he bought me Next Choice and i took the first dose at 6:25pm and the 2nd dose at 6:25am. I have a mac and im tryin 2 find a way 2 put music on my phone (samsung imression)... i kno sum1 who has the same phone and they said tht all they had 2 do was connect the usb to their mac and a little folder on the desktop showed up and they dragged their song from itunes onto the folder... unfortunately tht folder doesnt show up on my mac... sum1 help with n easy an effective solution ? I read a book in 7th grade that I'm trying to remember but I just can't. It was about this boy who was traveling with his mother during WW2 on a boat when the boat was sinking and he got separated from his mother but was saved by an African American man from the Caribbean who happened to be working on the boat.
