Romney just flip flopped again?

He has always said that. And it is true- every woman should. She just should not use taxpayers money to pay for it. I have to pay for mine! Other women can pay for theirs as well. If they are too poor than they shouldn't be irresponsible and having sex or they should deal with the consequences. And same for abortions- taxpayers should never have to support the murder of an unborn child. Romney does however want to cut funding to planned parenthood who think its a good idea to use taxpayer money to fund poor womens' poor choices. His plan makes perfect sense and he absolutely did not "flip flop" or switch his views.

Make sure you understand what the ACTUAL issue has always been. Romney, as well, as a great many citizens believe the GOVERNMENT, Business, and Church should NOT be required to provide contraceptives to anyone. To have sex is an individuals private choice. Along with that choice comes the responsibility to obtain contraceptives, if that is the individuals choice. BUT why should I provide money for someones private choice?

He said what he always said. He made an important distinction that you missed - which is that it is not the responsibility of Government to provide them, nor does he believe it should be up to a bunch of bureaucrats to decide what should or should not be available in a health insurance plan.

If you look at Romney's health insurance plan and don't rely on a sound bite in a forum like the debate, you will understand that his position is that the government should support, but not control, free market availability of health insurance. The support will come from laws restricting frivolous lawsuits, tax breaks to individuals who want to purchase their own private health insurance, the ability to buy and own health insurance from any state in the union and to take it with you when you move from state to state, and to allow insurance companies to find their own market niches.

What this means to consumers is that women who are of child-bearing age who want contraceptive coverage are not restricted to the government-regulated "one size fits all" insurance policy - they can shop around and get the policy they need and want. At the same time, women who are PAST their child-bearing age, or who are not sexually active, or who have some moral or religious objection to birth control, can shop around and get the policy THEY need and want. No one tells anyone what they must have or can't have, and no one tells anyone what they must pay for for other people.

That's called choice. That's called free-market.
