How do you commit suicide if you are unnable to move?

Im working on a screenplay where a man that has been in a mining accident, has a punctured lung, and his legs and arms broken, he's laying on the floor on his back, he has no hope of being rescued and wants to end his suffering. How does he kill himself. Thanks in advance.

Well if his arms and legs are broken, then he wouldn't be able to easily kill himself. He could starve himself, but that doesn't give you much to work with.

Um... since he knows he's not getting rescued, you could make it so that despite the pain of broken arms and legs he tries to gouge out his eyes or whatever else and play up the pain that it is causing him (broken arms and legs) to make the audience really feel his need to end his life.

If he is completely immobile, he could wiggle over to a pointy rock and slam his neck really hard on it - breaking his neck and potentially severing his spinal cord.

Definitely grim stuff, hope this helps.
