What does it mean if I have a low TSH level, but a high thyroglobulin antibody?

if i am a 2nd year medical student, i may have pointed a finger at you and claim that "you have Grave's disease" - named after a guy called 'Grave' and not because it puts you in one.. but it is not that simple, because you need to make the diagnosis only after reviewing the FULL medical history, conducting FULL physical examination and comparing the results of other tests: other blood lab findings and radiological findings (x rays, MRI and such).. `

the simple answer is ASK YOUR DOCTOR, because she/he has all the puzzle pieces that i simply do not have access to.. your question is like showing us a picture of a foot, and asking us to talk about the person: whether the person is a he or a she, whether the person is rich or poor, and whether the person is short or tall.. it is not impossible to guess but i can be wrong in my guess.. `

in addition to Grave's disease, you could be having the effect of uncontrolled type-1 Diabetes Mellitus, pernicious anaemia (anemia in American spelling) or having the rare such as rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma and thyroid cancers.. my guess could be horribly wrong and premature.. so instead, i will tell you the basics..`

the activity of the thyroid gland is controlled by the brain by controlling how much TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) produced at the base of the brain (called the Pituitary Gland).. so basically, when you have too much T3 and T4 in your blood (aka. Hyperthyroidism), then your brain (the pituitary gland) produces less TSH into the blood causing less stimulation to the Thyroid gland (remember what TSH stand for).. `

so there are 3 reasons why there is low TSH blood levels: high blood levels of T3 and T4, direct effect or damage to the brain (pituitary gland) such as a brain cancer or a trauma after a car accident, and other external factors that affects the production of the TSH hormone, such as pernicious anaemia and type-1 Diabetes Mellitus..`

i am more inclined to believe that you have Hyperthyroidism (high T3 & T4 in the blood) but it is only a good guess and not supported by evidence; and i am 100% sure that your doctor had ordered the Thyroid function test TFT to check the T3, T4 and other parameters.. you would NOT order TSH and thyroglobulin antibody blood tests without the blood TFT test first..`

the Thyroglobulin antibody blood test, should be negative/extremely low in normal circumstances, but a high Thyroglobulin antibodies indicates an active attack on the Thyroid gland.. and you would see such attacks in autoimmune diseases (it is when the body defences (the immune system) attacks its own body parts), such as rheumatoid arthritis, Graves’ disease, Hashimoto thyroiditis and Thyroid cancers..

so you have low TSH level that may or may not be as the result of high T3&T4 levels.. and you have high Thyroglobulin antibodies that indicates an attack on the thyroid gland by the immune system (by own body defences).. however with the absence of FULL history, Full examinations and key blood results like TFT, FBC (or CBC) and LFT; it would be irresponsible to say things for certain..

my medical-student younger self, would probably be jumping and pointing at the screen and shouting "you have Grave's!! you have Grave's!!" in excitement because it is such a rare discovery to find one (it is like finding a pink elephant or an albino guerrilla).. but my current self tells me that it would be irresponsible to say that without any concrete evidence because all we have are circumstantial evidences, and we would not want to ruin someone's life and well-being by unfounded guesses.. so the best answer is.. ASK YOUR EXAMINING DOCTOR!! and all the best..  

You don't state how low is low and so one can only guess. 

You need to have other tests and an evaluation by an endocrinologist to check to see is you have subclinical hyperthyroidism or overt hyperthyroidism depending on all the lab work and the symptoms which you don't state.
