A 2006 Toyota Prius one owner?

Bought a new 06 Prius, it has 50,500 miles on it. Its blue not the dark blue toyota color. I was displeased at its looks. I had the windows tinted and limo tint on the rear windows, a legal tint job. I wax it with mothers wax. Next I put of a set of 4 Enkei brushed aluminum rims 18x7.5. It has factory headers and I installed a K&N filter. Besides a body kit, I feel I am missing something. If it were your vehicle what would you do to improve the car?

Bluto has it right. The K&N filter does not filter very well at all and WILL shorten the engine life. K&N filters are basically something you sell to dumb kids. At one time racers used them because they have minimum filtration and maximum airflow, but that was back in the days when engines had carburetors.

The only thing your Prius needs is a stability plate (about $200) that you can purchase from http://www.priuschat.com/

I would pshitcan the filter you have and install the Toyota OEM unit. It is far superior at keeping dirt out of the engine. I would also ditch the wheels in favor of the stock size fitted with Disc hubcaps from Hubcap Mike. Body kits and other rubbish take away from what that car is best at. It's not a performance street machine. It is an efficient gas sipper. Treat it like one. Now go remove that garbage you have put on it.

  • Before you use wax again, take a look at Fire Glaze Polish Sealant. You will get a high gloss mirror shine that will make your paint pop, feel silky smooth and look like glass with a few coats.

The light blue color is called Seaside Pearl, the dark blue is Spectra Blue Mica.

JerryJ and Bluto are right on track. Toyota and K&N do not go well together, but that body stabilizer gets nothing but rave reviews.
