Could Jesus Have a Revolution Against God?

There are so many myths that a god's son will take over his rule and kill his father, why aren't we entertaining the same thing about Jesus taking over God's kingdom. He won't do it with violence because he's seen others try and fail. But if he creates a religion (or few) based on peace and love, that build up his worshippers and funnel them through him instead of a direct worship of his father (middleman getting the spiritual profits), he could weaken God and force him to usurp.

He already had a chance to do that when he was here in earth an was tempted by the devil to do so. The devil offered him all the kingdoms in the world. Jesus's loyalty and love to God encompasses time and space. It is a love that we as human may never be able to achieve. Also Jesus has power because god has given it to him. Jesus is mighty but God is the all Mighty.

The answer to your question is both yes and no. First I shall address the “yes” part of my answer but I strongly suspect that Yahoo does not allow enough characters for me to fully develop both the yes and no. For my answers, I’m going to take the position that in order for there to be a revolution, there has to be at least one rebel.

May I remind you that the “Adam” of the book of Genesis had neither a physical father or mother, if one accepts the traditional biblical account of creation? Many Christians claim that what makes Jesus so powerful, so unique and worthy of worship is the fact that he had no human is father. Since Adam, with neither human mother nor father, was able to rebel, and on the other end of the scale in one way or another the rest of the rank-and-file of humanity have also rebelled, then it follows that Jesus would be able to rebel as well. I believe without question the Jesus had His very human reality. In one way of looking at it, since Jesus had both that physical reality as well as a spiritual reality that was born of God then Jesus could well have been a very powerful adversary.

As far as it not being possible for Jesus to rebel, Jesus Himself stated that the power that he had was given to him by God. If that power was given to him by God, then God could just as easily take away that power, and I believe would have done so at the first sign of any rebellion if God would have given Jesus any power to begin with. Another consideration is the biblical indication that the spirit within Jesus was responsible for all of creation. If that Christ-spirit that was within Jesus was responsible for all of creation, then not only would Jesus have had a personal interest in seeing creation remain successful, Jesus would have innate knowledge what actions would best ensure the continued success of creation. If God’s intention is the same as Jesus’ intention, then a rebellion by Jesus would be irrational as well as counterproductive. I believe that Jesus had an intellectual capacity far beyond that of the most intelligent but otherwise normal human that has ever lived. If that is true, then Jesus was capable of acting not only through love but also exhibiting and acting on extreme rationality and logic.

Let me make this more personal. Assuming that you still have both of your arms and legs, all of your fingers and toes and I assume that your head is still attached, you have the ability to choose to cut off your legs with a saw should you so desire. But although you literally have that ability, your intelligence, your logic and your hesitancy to turn a good situation into a bad one prevents you from picking up that saw and exercising that particular display of freedom of choice. But say that there are other people involved. If you are driving your card down the road and have your girlfriend along with you as well as a car full of other loved ones. If somehow you could see into the future and know that at this particular fork in the road if you turn left then you will have a safe trip but if you turn right, there will be a tragic accident and you will all be killed. If you could see into the future, then you would always pick what will bring the best outcome for you and your loved ones. If Jesus is Who and what He claimed to be, then we are all the family of Jesus. Jesus did not rebel because His rebellion would have been bad for the rest of humanity.

I’m going to very briefly address “spiritual profits.” After considering the possibilities, it is my belief that spiritual realities, spiritual qualities are different in that the more they are exercised, the more they are developed the more they are shared. With money, if there is a pile of dollar bills or gold coins or what ever on the table before us, the more you take the lesser is for me. But I believe that when it comes to spirituality the more you have the more I have.

I may be over limits already some going to close at what seems like a good point
