  • Quran's Story of Moses & Burning Bush & God's Name?

1a.) If the Quran is seen as the islamic book of god, and the lineage is suppose to come from Abraham's other son Ismael then how does the story go about Moses and his asking what is God's name when talking to the burning bush?

1b.) According to the "old testament" it states God said his name was Yaweh (translated as Jehovah), but why doesn't the Quran mention Him telling Moses His name, and why don't Muslims say the name instead of just saying god?

2.) Since "the children of Israel" (what some call Jews) call the books Moses wrote, the Pentateuch (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy) what are their names in the Quran?

  • If You Weren't Obese Young, Why Accept It Now?

I don't look at it as maintaining vanity, but it's been known that obesity isn't healthy for decades. As a person gets larger and larger, don't they see the changes on the outside, and that it's harder to walk up hills, carry stuff farther, and the expense of changing clothes before they properly wear out, or go out of style? (i.e. I know that many have to buy new pants because the friction in the thighs wear out the upper part of the inseams) Not to mention the friction of those legs rubbing against each other changed the color of the skin. Or thyroid changes and other related, avoidable diseases occur. Why let those things happen to you?

I'm bringing this up because of some I know, and how the comedienne Mo'nique has lost weight for "health reasons" but she used to berate "skinny" people.

  • Plaster, Joint Compound or Spackle - Which is Right for When?

since they are all priced around the same amount I wondered if one is better to use for rooms that may experience more moisture than other places inside a home? If plaster is coming off the walls in chunks will spackle or joint compound will do the same job and not suffer any problems?

I don't want to 2nd guess and go for something cheap just to pay later.

    Thanks for anyone's help.

  • Can a Roth IRA Be Used As A "Stockholder" Or "Investor" Or "Own" A Business?

I was told that if an IRA is the principle of a business, then the returns of that business going into the Roth IRA will be tax free to the person who owns it. I don't know how true that is, but if so, then it's logical that one could use the money in a Roth IRA for other investment ownerships.

  • Is the 2010 Mac Pro Hardware Good Enough for the Next 5 Years For the New Stuff?

I'm shopping for a used mac and was wondering more about the hardware's compatibility with the times changing. My G5 is still good but I can't use Chrome or the new Firefox browsers, and the new Flash won't show on FaceBook. So I'm asking for any suggestions or predictions of the emerging techs.

    Thank you.

  • What about JW's New World Order Politics?

While Witnesses don't accept participating in "the world's" politics, how do they think the "new world order" will develop?

Do you anticipate a bunch of angels to materialize or deceased members be resurrected, to help out the day-to-day differences of people? People do change and not everyone in the second (and futher) generations to look up to Jehovah in the same way as you will.

The 144,000 who'll serve as "judges" aren't suppose come to earth, from what I remember. Or do you think they'll become dual-reigning entities who will come to earth as immortals and be able to go to heaven at will?

As you can tell, there are many ways to formulate how this can happen. I'd like to read how different witnesses perceive their expected 1000-year-rule to be like.

And what about money and your future's economy? (let's leave that for another question. - go here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201210...

  • What about JW's New World Order Economics?

How do you expect people to get paid for their work. Your religion touts equality, but come on, be real to people's talents, skills, desires, motivations, and actions. Could you really be expected to have TRUE equality economically?

History shows to the contrary. When Moses liberated the Israelites, when the Puritans came to America -- people change and the children look for something different.

  • Could Jesus Have a Revolution Against God?

There are so many myths that a god's son will take over his rule and kill his father, why aren't we entertaining the same thing about Jesus taking over God's kingdom. He won't do it with violence because he's seen others try and fail. But if he creates a religion (or few) based on peace and love, that build up his worshippers and funnel them through him instead of a direct worship of his father (middleman getting the spiritual profits), he could weaken God and force him to usurp.

  • can the US Parole commission make you do more time?

let's say a person who has 5 years with a parole structure. He does 3 years initially, a year and a half with his parole revoked, then a three months more. Now he only has a couple months left and is back in jail again. Can the Commission make him do more?

  • WHAT IF THE U.S. DEFAULTED?

We give ourselves a debt limit when we don't apply for credit cards, should our government have to apply for credit too? Well, that's what the politics are about. Uncle Same doesn't seem to have apply, more so than to simply ask. I wonder how many banks and/or countries have said no? As long as the interest payments are paid, I feel each bank, each country is tallying up how much ownership can be theirs if defaulted. That would be so surreal and scary.

My real question is, what would be owned if the cash couldn't be doled out: laws, real estate, an agency's authority, weapon and satellite rights? Hmmmm....

  • Resume of Government Job to Private Industry?

One of the oddest things in government service is that many jobs are so specific you won't find them in private industry. I found this working in a Jail. How can I make a resume that would appear outstanding for a government-to-government job employer to an attractive government-to-private industry job recruiter?

  • What's wrong with not accepting Jesus?

I'm not talking about rejecting him, but not accepting him. The difference, the way I mean, is that rejecting is outright pushing him and his teachings away as a bad thing. I think there were many who heard about Jesus who thought that his messages are good, and that they may be doing most of them already as honest, spiritual, and ethical people. So why would Christians treat Jews, and others after Jesus' time, as damned. It's not up to Christians to judge who's eligible for heaven, no matter what the Bible says.
