What are some new Sci Fi or Fantasy shows to watch?

I'm currently watching Once Upon a Time, Grimm, and Revolution.

I just got a DVR (yay!) so I'll be able to record and watch more than I have been. I have cable TV.

What else should I watch that is currently on? I've seen a lot of older sci fi and fantasy, so I'm looking for shows that are fairly new and currently on the air (not in reruns). Thanks!

Update:

I appreciate everyone who took the time to respond so far, but apparently I should have emphasized the word NEW. Someone suggested Star Trek--I mean, really?! Is there ANY sci fi lover out there anywhere who doesn't know about Star Trek? As a bona fide geek, I can assure you that I've seen Star Wars too. And Stargate (I've watched every series, every episode AND the commentary AND the special features). I've seen every episode of the Battlestar Galactica remake in order, AND the commentary, AND all the special features. Like I said, I've seen A LOT of older sci fi and fantasy.

I also like Primeval, which has been around since 2007. Supernatural has been around since 2005 and it's not my cup of tea--too much horror. Doctor Who, 2005. Eureka, 2006. Dead Like Me, 2003. Haven, 2010, sort of new, but I lost interest after the first few episodes back in the day. Fringe, 2008, I tried the first few episodes and didn't like it (that scientist is just to

Update 2:

too creepy for my taste).

I had never heard of Invader Zim before, but that came out in 2001, and it's a cartoon. The Walking Dead is sort of new, 2010, but it doesn't look like my kind of thing. I'm not a fan of zombies. I can do vampires and werewolves okay; for example, I enjoy Being Human (both the U.K. and the U.S. version), even though at times it's a bit too graphic for my preference, but I can handle it. The Game of Thrones is way, way too graphic for me; I tried the pilot and vowed never, ever again, even though I enjoyed the books.

666 Park Avenue IS new, 2012, but I've seen the ads for it and it looks too much like horror for my taste. The Pillars of the Earth, 2010, I looked that up and it doesn't look like fantasy, just historical drama. Is there any magic in it? It doesn't look like it, and if it's just plain historical drama, I would most likely find it boring. Merlin, 2008, and I'm not a big King Arthur fan.

Kudos to the pe

Update 3:

Kudos to the person who mentioned Beauty and the Beast, which actually is a new show I hadn't heard of, new THIS YEAR. Fabulous. Also kudos to the person who mentioned Alphas, 2011, which isn't too much for me to catch up on to get up to speed (If I decide to watch it, I'll get the DVD of the previous season so then I can watch the current season on TV). Kudos to the person who mentioned Falling Skies, 2011, a show I'd heard of in passing but hadn't started watching and then forgot about.

I'll give those 3 shows a try. Thanks for the suggestions so far and if anyone else has a suggestion for a show not yet mentioned that started in either 2011 or 2012 (or if you know of any coming out in 2013), please enlighten me! Thank you so much for your help.

I appreciate you taking the time and giving my question some thought. I know that other people on here don't know me so you don't know all my preferences and what I've seen and haven't seen,

Update 4:

so thanks for the effort even if your suggestions don't happen to click with me. Thanks for trying!

I'd go with Alexis' choice and this one--Beauty and the Beast. (No not the Disney movie or the old series that came out in the 80's but there is a new version on the CW.)

Joscasta is nice to coach the Dresden archives and lost female, no longer positive how I forgot lost female, i develop into in user-friendly terms watching it the day handed by.

You might like Alphas or Haven on the SyFy Channel. And Fringe is great. 666 Park Avenue has potential - it's at least better than Revolution. Then there's Supernatural and The Walking Dead.
